October 10th, 2007 Wyomissing, PA Berks County
The following butterfly count was taken:
1. Monarchs – 10 individuals
2. Delaware Skipper
3. Peck’s Skipper
4. Zabulon Skipper
5. Buckeye
6. Gray Hairstreak
7. Painted Lady
8. American Painted Lady
9. Cabbage
10. Orange Sulphur
11. Eastern Tailed Blue
Jeff reports most sightings were in the southwest exposure in his habitat. Butterfly Bush, Verbena Bonariensis, State Fair Mix Zinnia, & Zinnia Profusion were the main attractors. Verbena Bonariensis was the number one attractor. Jeff did surveys at 10:30am & 2:30pm to get his count. The temperature in the afternoon was 84 degrees.
